Olga Boznańska from our collection exhibited in Cracow

The exhibition "Olga Boznańska", hosted by the National Museum in Cracow, has attracted 64,4 thousand visitors and art lovers. The exhibition of Cracow artist gave way in terms of popularity only to the display of William Turner’s exhibition of paintings, which has been visited by 67 thousand people.
The exhibition of Olga Boznańska's works organized in the main hall of the National Museum in Cracow gathered not only 173 works of art of hers, but also about 20 paintings of contemporary European artists who have inspired Boznańska.

The exhibition presented the best works of art, in particular those which brought her international fame and recognition in the history of art. We could admire the most often copied and displayed works and also those never shown in Poland before. The paintings come from, inter alia, Musée d’Orsayin Paris, B. G. Woznicki’s Lviev National Art Gallery or Ca’ Pesaro in Venice.

The works of the artists who inspired Bozanska were displayed as well – Diego Velázquez, Édouard Manet, Henri Fantin-Latour or James McNeill Whistler. The museum rented their works from The Louvre, Musée d’Orsay in Paris or Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.

The exhibition also displayed the works of Anna Bilińska, Eugeniusz Zak, Józef Pankiewicz, Meli Muter -  the artists associated with Paris and the works of artists connected with Cracow (Jacek Malczewski). Thanks to this confrontation, we could admire Olga Boznańska among the masters.
The second part of the exhibition may currently be admired in The National Museum in Warsaw.
